Welcome! The spring session of JAMS kicked off yesterday with 21 awesome young people. They learned their mission for the next eight weeks: to create three-dimensional structures from "found objects," better known as "junk." By using plastic bottles, aluminum cans and all sorts of items that would end up in landfills, their art projects will embody the spirit of environmentalism. Throughout their artistic journey, JAMS youth will learn from local eco-experts how to reduce their own "footprints" on the world around them. Check back for (practically) daily updates on the spring JAMS journey through junk yards, informative exercises and creative expression.
